GCC youth, sports ministers meet in Kuwait Sunday

KUWAIT, April 18 (KUNA) -- Ministers and senior officials of youth and sports affairs at the Gulf Cooperation Council will start a series of meetings in Kuwait as of Sunday to discuss beefing up bilateral cooperation.
On Sunday, Kuwait will host the Executive Council of the GCC Olympic Committees Chiefs will hold its 72nd session. Then, the undersecretaries of the ministries of youth and sports will hold their 31st meeting, to be followed by the 28th session of the GCC Olympic Committees Chiefs.
On Tuesday, the GCC youth and sports ministerial council will hold its 28th meeting.
"The meetings will thoroughly study an array of key youth and sports issues with a view to materialize the Gulf leaders' vision of enhancing youth contribution to the state and society building," GCC Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian and Environment Affairs Abdullah Al-Hashem told KUNA.
Al-Hashem added that the meetings are expected to witness the endorsement of the unified Gulf regulations for youth joint action.
The conferees will review Saudi Arabia's preparations for hosting the second Gulf Olympic Games, planned October 2015, he said. (end) fs.ibi
