Tribal clashes in N. Pakistan kill 13 people

ISLAMABAD, April 11 (KUNA) -- At least 13 people were killed by a remotely-controlled bomb and rocket attacks on two vehicles on Friday as tribal clashes erupted in a northern Pakistani tribal area bordering Afghanistan, said media reports.
According to the reports, the first incident occurred in Tehsil Dattakhel of Miranshah tribal agency when a remote-controlled roadside bomb targeted a vehicle that killed three persons and two sustained injuries.
Meanwhile, a rocket fired on a vehicle at Shawal area killed 10 more. The clashes erupted between the two rival groups working under the umbrella of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) a few days ago over the issue of leadership of the banned outfit, said the reports.
Pakistan government has initiated peace talks with TTP by forming a committee to end the bloody seven-year insurgency against the state.
The TTP has also nominated its committee to hold talks with the government and announced a ceasefire that ended on April 10, 2014. Taliban liaison committee member Professor Ibrahim on Friday said that a deadlock-like situation has developed between the government and the Taliban. (end) sbk.hb
