KUWAIT, March 23 (KUNA) -- A mutual sense of responsibility and accord that prevailed the Foreign Ministers' preparatory meeting for the 25th Arab summit was a positive indicator of the success of the Summit, Morocco's Foreign Minister and International Cooperation said Sunday.
Salahuddin Mizwar told the press after the meeting was concluded that numerous issues were discussed, like the Palestinian cause and establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem is its capital.
The meeting also focused on resolutions related to the Syrian conflict and humanitarian crisis, he said. Mizwar said the foreign ministers called on the international community to shoulder the responsibilty and work harder to alleviate suffering of the Syrian refugees.
The minister stressed the importance of implementing the communique of the Geneva I, which calls for a power transition in Syria, and relevant UN resolutions to find a political solution for the crisis through dialogue between government and opposition.
The minister pointed out that today's meeting touched on developing the Arab League mechanisms to be able to achieve the Arab people's aspirations.
The foreign ministers also discussed setting up an Arab court of human rights, creating effective means to counter terrorism and protecting the Arab identity. (end) sss.nfs.nfm KUNA 231756 Mar 14NNNN
