Kuwait continues supporting Syrian refugees in Armenia

(with photos) KUWAIT, Sept 4 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Ambassador to Armenia Bassam Al-Qabandi met with Armenian Minister of Diaspora Dr. Hranush Hakobian, during which they affirmed depth of joint relations between the two countries, Kuwaiti Embassy in Armenia stated on Wednesday.
During the meeting, held in the Armenian republic, the two sides discussed Kuwait's support for displaced Syrian refugees in Armenia, estimated at 10,000 families, via the International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO).
The Kuwait-based IICO has provided aid to schools that Armenia allocated for the children of Syrian refugees, the Embassy mentioned in a statement.
Kuwait has always provided aid and charity as it also closely follows up on the situation of Syrian refugees and provides them with aid and assistance, under the directions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in whatever country they take as a refuge such as Jordan, Turkey, Lebanon and Armenia, Ambassador Al-Qabandi noted in the statement.
For her part, Dr. Hakobian expressed her gratitude to HH the Amir, Kuwaiti political leadership and people for their keenness and care in following up on the Syrian refugees' affairs in Armenia and other countries. (end) abk.ma KUNA 042335 Sep 13NNNN
