KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 (KUNA) -- Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education said
Tuesday that a total of 1,305 Malaysian students were evacuated from Egypt,
and 1,056 others are to be returned back home by next Friday.
The Malaysian Minister of Education Idris Jusoh said in press remarks on
Tuesday that all Malaysian students in Egypt will be evacuated and sent back
to their homeland.
He praised the role of the Malaysian National Security Council, which
exerted enormous efforts in this matter.
After negotiations with Cairo University on Monday, it agreed on holding
examinations in Malaysia for around 100 Malaysian students who are enrolled in
this university, between September 2-5, Minister Jusoh said.
Al-Azhar University also agreed on postponing the dates of examinations for
Malaysian students he added. (end)
