PARIS, Aug 18 (KUNA) -- Qatar is offering aid and support for Egypt and not
the Muslim brotherhood, foreign minister Khaled Al-Attiyah said Sunday.
"Qatar did not provide support to a specific political party or group, it
is still providing assistance to Egypt after the January 25 (2011) revolution
up until now," Al-Attiyah told a joint news conference with his French
counterpart Laurent Fabius.
He said Qatar sent the second gas shipment to Egypt two days ago as part of
Doha's continuous support to the north African country. "The Qatari assistance
and support for the Egyptian people will not stop," he underlined.
Fabius called on importance of stopping bloodshed and establishing dialogue
between all parties in Egypt.
"This is not an easy thing of course but I think all countries with good
intentions should work in that direction," he said.
Talks between Al-Attiyah and Fabius dealt with the unrest in Egypt which
killed hundreds of people and injured thousands others. (end)
