(With photos) KUWAIT, June 6 (KUNA) -- Ghutra, which is a traditional headdress of Arabian people in general, still acts as a "mask" for Kuwaiti people to protect themselves from dust, especially during the Bawareh wind period.
Bawareh is a seasonal wind that affects the entire Arabian Gulf, including Kuwait. It often begins at the advent of summer, exactly early June, and lasts until mid-July.
Bawareh period is usually dominated by north-westerly winds blowing at speeds reaching 50 kilometers an hour, sometimes associated with sand. Bawareh winds get hotter at daytime, but abate at night, with dust dwindling away. (end) ysa.mt KUNA 062240 Jun 13NNNN
