KUWAIT, July 29 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Petroleum International, one of companies
serving under umbrella of the national Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, has
inaugurated the first site in Lithuania securing diesel at a key road crossing
near the border with Poland.
KPI said in a statement released on Sunday that the International Diesel
Service (IDS), which is KPI's commercial vehicle retail network brand, has
opened the card acceptance site, located at a strategic crossing in
Marijampole close to the border with Poland.
The KPI noted in the statement the establishment of site would have
positive impact on the development of the national economy and the nation
interaction with other EU member states.
Lithuania joined the European Union in 2004.
Moreover, the key location is a transit route between Western Europe,
Scandinavia countries, eastern markets such as Russia and Commonwealth
Independent States. Every transaction at the site is pre-checked for
authorization the moment the commercial vehicle driver uses the fuel card.
Expansion of IDS in Lithuania emphasizes KPI's commitment to offer the most
extensive and secure fuelling network coverage throughout Europe.
The IDS is a network for fueling long haul and international transport
companies, with more than 570 sites at strategic locations in 21 countries in
Europe. (end)
