LONDON, July 24 (KUNA) -- Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and the Archbishop of Canterbury were taking part in a debate on religion in public life here Tuesday, it was announced.
The pair are to be joined at a central London location by former Daily Telegraph newspaper editor Charles Moore, the organisers said.
Questions to be discussed include what part religion can play in democratic society and how democracy should respond to the challenges that faith can bring.
The event is the last of the Westminster Faith Debates, supported and organised by the Religion and Society programme at Lancaster University think-tank "Theos", the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and the Economic and Social Research Council.
An invited audience of 450 people who have taken part in the earlier debates will attend.
Protests are expected outside the venue, with demonstrators from the Stop the War Coalition due to gather outside the venue this afternoon, when the talk will start inside.
The debate is to be streamed live online.(end) he.wsa KUNA 241102 Jul 12NNNN
