Israel allows double amount of vehicles entering Gaza

GAZA, May 15 (KUNA) -- Israeli occupation authorities doubled the amount of cars entering Gaza per month to 320 vehicles, a Palestinian official said Tuesday.
Raed Fattooh, chairman of the products entry coordination committee in Gaza, told KUNA the Israeli authorities used to allow entry of 40 cars per week since it eased siege on the strip in 2010.
But as of this week, the Israelis doubled the number of cars passing through Karam Abu Salem crossing to 80 per week, he said.
Fattooh said the Palestinian authority was pressuring the Israeli authorities to allow entry of trucks and large equipment used in construction.
Palestinians in Gaza Strip were forced to dug tunnels under the borders with Egypt to smuggle necessary goods.
Meanwhile, Fattooh said the first Palestine-made products were exported to Britain.
He said this was the first shipment with a made-in-Palestine label. (end) mzt.bs KUNA 152037 May 12NNNN
