SANAA, May 6 (KUNA) -- Yemeni Al-Qaeda leader Fahd Al-Quso was killed along
with other Al-Qaeda militants in an air strike in eastern Yemen, a Yemeni
security source announced here on late Sunday.
In a press statement, the security source said that an air strike targeted
a vehicle, in which Al-Quso was on board, in Rafadh, east of Ataq, the
provincial capital of Shabwa province, which led to his death along with all
the other militants who were in the vehicle.
Al-Quso is considered the third-on-the-list on UN Security Council (UNSC)
and US Federal Bureau of Intelligence (FBI) of 10 most wanted terrorists in
the world. He was wanted in connection with the October 2000 attack on the US
Navy destroyer, the USS Cole, in Yemen's port of Aden, which killed 17 sailors
and wounded 40 others. (end)
