BEIRUT, April 3 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Voluntary Work Center (KVWC) is keen on participating in various events inside the country and abroad, member of KVWC and Researcher Suad Al-Furaih said on Tuesday.
Al-Furaih told KUNA, at the end of the Third conference on spreading the culture of voluntary work in the Arab World, held in Beirut, that participants stressed on their keenness on activating voluntary work in the Arab World through societies, institutions and centers working in this field.
She stated that governmental institutions alone are not able to serve the requirements and meet the needs of the Kuwaiti society, while KVWC has a good reputation in Arab and foreign countries interested in this matter.
The participating delegations in the conference and member countries in the Arab Union for Voluntary Work, on the sidelines of the conference, carried out a tree-planting campaign including the planting of 250 trees in order to motivate Arab youth in the field of agriculture and preservation of the environment.
The five-day conference organized by the Lebanon Center for Volunteering Work and the Arab Union for Volunteering Work is attended by delegations from Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi, Algeria, Morocco, Iraq, Yemen and Libya.
