Britain withdraws civilians from Afghanistan

LONDON, Feb 25 (KUNA) -- Britain is withdrawing all civilian advisers from institutions in the Afghan capital Kabul after two American officers were shot dead in the Interior Ministry, it was announced here Saturday.
A UK Foreign Office spokesman said: "As a temporary measure the British Embassy has withdrawn civilian mentors and advisors from institutions within Kabul. We will keep the situation under review".
Nato has withdrawn all its personnel from Afghan ministries after two senior officers were shot dead in the interior ministry building in Kabul.
Nato said an "individual" had turned his gun on the officers, believed to be an American colonel and major, and had not yet been identified or caught.
Nato commander Gen John Allen condemned the attack as "cowardly".
