TUNIS, Feb 17 (KUNA) -- Tunisian Foreign Minister Rafik Abdessalem said
here Friday an international conference on Syria due here on February 24 shows
"absolute solidarity with the legitimate rights of the Syrian people,
including freedom and dignity".
The Friends of Syria Conference is a clear-cut embodiment of Tunisia's
condemnation of violence against peaceful protesters in Syria, he told a news
conference.
All members of the Arab League and European Union (EU), some members of the
Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the US, China, Russia, India and
Brazil are expected to attend the gathering, he said.
But, the Tunisian foreign minister ruled out that the opposition Syrian
National Council could partake in the conference. (end)
