Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu
RIYADH, Jan 30 (KUNA) -- Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic
Cooperation (OIC) Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu strongly condemned on Monday
continuing of violence in Syria and killing of large number of civilians.
In press statement issued here, Ihasanoglu expressed deep concern about
deterioration of the situations and what would follow afterwards of threats to
Syria's security, unity, stability, and safety of its people, urging to take
bold resolutions and sacrifices in favor of Syria.
He stressed that this is the responsibility of political leaderships which
should sacrifice for the sake of the people, expressing at the same time his
concern about continuous inability of international community to face the
aggravation of crisis in Syrian.
Ihasanoglu called on the UN Security Council to take responsibility and
rush in finding an exit to the Syrian crisis that would stop bloodshed and
killing of innocent lives. (end)
