ISLAMABAD, Dec 23 (KUNA) - The Taliban attacked a paramilitary forces' fort
on Friday in Pakistan's northwestern district and reportedly kidnapped 15
soldiers and killed another.
Citing local police official Ejad Abid, local media reports said that at
least 35 militants, armed with assault rifles, attacked Frontier Corps Fort in
Tank district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province early morning.
One soldier was killed and two others were wounded, said the official,
adding that at least fifteen soldiers have been missing since the attack.
A purported spokesman for Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Ehsanullah
Ehsan, claimed responsibility for the attack and told the media that the
attack was to avenge the killing of a local Taliban commander. (end)
