CAIRO, Dec 15 (KUNA) -- The Arab League has decided on Thursday to postpone
the Saturday ministerial meeting sine die and move the venue of the meeting,
of the committee on follow-up of the Syrian crisis, to Doha.
The meeting of the ministerial-level committee will be held on Saturday in
Doha, the League's Deputy Secretary-General Ahmad Bin Helli announced here.
"The decision was made in the light of the consultation between the
Secretary-General Dr. Nabil Al-Araby and the head of the committee Qatari
Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem," he pointed out.
"Al-Araby is in talks with other Arab foreign ministers including Syria's
Walid Al-Muallem," Bin Helli revealed.
"The League and the Arab ministers are trying hard to convince Syria to
sign the protocol on the deployment of Arab ceasefire monitors in Syria," he
added.
The foreign ministers of the Arab countries and the committee were
scheduled to convene two separate meetings at the headquarters of the League
here on Saturday. (end)
