PRISTINA, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's visiting National Assembly Speaker Jassem Al-Kharafi said here on Sunday that the State of Kuwait will soon announce its recognition of the Republic of Kosovo, saying that Foreign Minister of Kosovo Enver Hoxhaj would arrive in Kuwait next Tuesday for a short official visit.
Al-Kharafi, during his meeting today with Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Hashim Thaci, expressed his hope that this visit would achieve the desired results.
He also expressed hope both countries would establish their official ties during this visit for the best interest of both governments and people.s He said Kuwait and Kosovo have agreed on the need to start and prepare to lay the foundations of bilateral relations and joint cooperation in the political, economic, trade, investment and tourism spheres as the bilateral parliamentary relations between the two countries had preceeded these areas.

Al-Kharafi praised the care shown by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to krasniqi's visit, expressing his belief that "it is the first time for a head of state to receive a parliament Speaker of another State where both governments have no recognition".

"This assertion by HH the Amir is just a proof of his keenness on the establishment of official bilateral relations between Kuwait and Kosovo in all spheres", noted Al-Kharafi.
Al-Kharafi also conveyed the best greetings and regards of His Highness Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Hashim Thaci and to the Government and the friendly people of Kosovo for more progress and prosperity.
