BRUSSELS, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- Warplanes of the North Atlantic Treaty
Organization have attacked and scored direct hits on targets of warriors loyal
to the ousted Libyan leader Col. Moammar Gaddafi
NATO announced, in a statement released on Sunday, that its warplanes in
the last 24 hours, destroyed two command and control nodes, four multiple
rocket launchers, one armed vehicle and four surface to air missile systems
belonging to Gaddafi loyalists in the vicinity of Sirte.
Moreover, in the vicinity of Hun, nine anti aircraft guns, in the vicinity
of Al-Jufra, one command and control node and one vehicle storage facility,
and in the vicinity of Sheba one armed vehicle, one armoured vehicle, and one
multiple rocket launcher were also destroyed.
Since the beginning of the NATO operation over Libya on March 31, NATO
planes have flown a total of 23,044 sorties, including 8,645 strike missions.
