Chairman of KRCS Barjas Al-Barjas told KUNA that the society "will intensify its relief campaign" for Somalia in order to help the largest number of people affected by the drought that has plagued the country.
Due to the tragic situation in Somalia, the KRCS rushed to buy the cargo ship, which will be distributed to the Somali people under the supervision of KRCS volunteers and the Somali Red Crescent Society, he added.
Al-Barjas affirmed the necessity for food assistance to reach the people of Somalia in order to overcome the difficult conditions in this period, highlighting instructions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in this regard. He stressed that the KRCS coordinates with other relief and humanitarian organizations to face the "worst" drought facing Somalia since more than half a century.
The KRCS will provide all necessary requirements and needs, especially medicines for children, tents and baby-milk formulas. (end) akw.rf.mao KUNA 271848 Jul 11NNNN
