PARIS, June 12 (KUNA) -- Several hundred people were stranded at airports
throughout France after a lightning strike was called by flight crews from
Algerian carrier "Air Algerie," aviation sources confirmed Tuesday.
Media sources indicated that a number of flights were cancelled at the
Paris Orly airport and airports in provincial areas of France.
An official at "Aeroports de Paris", the local French authority, told KUNA
that "at least eight flights" were cancelled at Orly airport and hundreds of
passengers due to depart on Monday were forced to spend the night in the
terminal.
No end date for the strike has been yet announced.
Flight staff at the Algerian company already called for strike action last
month and many flights were cancelled or delayed after June 15. (end)
