BRUSSELS, July 10 (KUNA) -- Yousef Nizar Saleh of Kuwait came third in the
under 17 group at the international squash tournament for juniors being held
in Amsterdam, President of the Kuwait Squash Federation Hussein Maqsid, told
the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) by phone Sunday.
He said Aqeel Ashkanani under the 19 group took the sixth position. A
four-member Kuwaiti team has participated in the Dutch torunament.
"I as the president of Kuwait Squash Federation and other members of the
team are very glad about this result. It is the first time that Kuwaiti
participants in the Dutch tournament did so well," noted Maqsid.
He said the 4-day tournament will end Sunday afternoon with the
distribution of the prizes and then the Kuwait team will leave for Belgium to
participate in the Men's World Junior Squash Championship which will take
place in the city of Herentals from 13th to 17th July.
The 25th edition of the Squash Dutch Junior tournament is said to be the
largest ever with 417 participants from all over the world. (end)
