Egyptian court releases ex-presidency chief of staff on bail

CAIRO, May 17 (KUNA) -- A Court of Appeal in a Cairo district released former Presidency Chief of Staff Zakaria Azmi on a 200,000 Pounds bail, but investigations were ongoing with him on charges of illegally collecting his wealth.
The Court in Nasr district released Azmi who is still being questions by the Illicit Gains Authority on how he collected his wealth in a manner that exceeded his legal income.
Investigations have concluded that Azmi possessed lavish palaces, apartments, real estates, farm lands and huge bank accounts, which he did not register in his official property list. (end) ea.bs KUNA 172353 May 11NNNN
