ISLAMABAD, Feb 14 (KUNA) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza
Gilani headed Monday to Kuwait for a two-day visit to enhance bilateral
relations and increase cooperation.
The Prime Minister is being accompanied by Minister of State for Foreign
Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar and other senior government officials.
A foreign office press statement said that Pakistan "attaches immense
importance to its relations with the State of Kuwait and the Prime Minister's
visit will help further enhance the bilateral relationship, which is
multi-faceted and rooted in mutual respect and affection."
During his visit, the Prime Minister, among others, will meet His Highness
the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the
Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the
Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Pakistan and Kuwait enjoy excellent relations and the two brotherly
countries share common values, faith and traditions, said the statement,
adding, "the people of Pakistan take pride in the development of Kuwait under
the sagacious and visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Sabah, the Amir
of Kuwait."
Kuwait is host to a strong Pakistani community of about 150,000, who are
actively contributing towards the economic development of the country.
They also act as a strong bridge between the two countries, the statement
