SHARM EL SHEIKH, Egypt, Jan 19 (KUNA) -- Libya on Wednesday pledged USD 100
million to the small to mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) support fund established
by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in
an earlier Arab summit, the Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa said.
With this donation, the fund's capital climbs to around USD two billion.
This comes after back in 2009, Kuwait pledged USD 500 million, Saudi Arabia
(USD 500 million), Oman (USD 20 million), Egypt (USD 20 million), Algeria (USD
10 million), Syria (USD 10 million), Sudan (USD 10 million), Tunisia (USD five
million), Iraq (USD five million), Yemen (USD five million), Djibouti (USD one
million), Palestine (USD one million), The Arab Fund for Economic and Social
Development (USD one million). (end)
