Kuwaiti ambassador calls Chinese companies to take part in state''s development plan

NANNING, China, Dec 20 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to China Mohammad Al-Thuwaikh called on Monday Chinese companies to contribute in the execution of the Gulf state's development plan.
Al-Thuwaikh was speaking at a seminar held here by the foreign relations department of the ruling Communist Party of China about the economic development of China and the Gulf states.
The seminar was attended by Gulf ambassadors in China, academics, economists, and Gulf businessmen.
Al-Thuwaikh praised the Kuwaiti-Chinese relations, which will mark next year 40 years since their establishment.
The Kuwaiti ambitious development plan aims to provide an environment that attracts foreign investments, he said.
It involves renewing energy and oil facilities and the establishment of Madinat Al-Hareer (City of Silk), infrastructure, a large port, roads, hospitals, institutes, and universities, he added.
The Ambassador pointed out that the plan will make Kuwait one of the major trade and financial gates, not only in the Gulf region, but also in the Middle East and west Asia. (end) abk.ris KUNA 201400 Dec 10NNNN
