CAIRO, Nov 21 (KUNA) -- Thirty-eight members of the banned Muslim
Brotherhood were arrested Sunday here after being charged with holding
unauthorized rallies in Alexandria ahead of the upcoming legislative elections
on November 28.
According to the Middle East News Agency (MENA), the District Attorney for
Alexandria's Appeal Court Yassr Refaei noted that the arrestees were shouting
forbidden slogans, which aimed to disrupt peace, adding that the individuals
also attacked police forces, leading to the injury of eight security
personnel, in addition to damaging private properties.
Investigations of the incident would continue to determine if the arrestees
would face criminal charges, stated the official. (end)
