ISTANBUL, July 23 (KUNA) -- Two Turkish policemen were injured in an
Kurdistan Worker Party (PKK) backed up attacks which targeted the police in
southeast Turkey, Turkish security sources said Friday.
Anadolh news agency said that the attacks occurred in Mardin and Hakkari
governorates in southeast Turkey.
The two policemen were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Clashes between the two sides have been escalating, particularly after a
recent announcement made by PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan, who announced the end
of negotiations with Ankara. (end)
