KUWAIT, April 29 (KUNA) - Kuwaiti Minister of Health Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer
said Thursday the bed capacity of Al-Adan Hospital, Mubarak Al-Kabeer
Governorate, expanded to 865 beds after adding 240 bids as per HH the Amir's
instructions.
Speaking to reporters after the inauguration of "the Amiri expansion," the
minister said the hospital's emergency ward would be reopened after finalizing
its rehabilitation in the coming few weeks.
"His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah instructed
the expansion of the ministry's hospitals nationwide, enhancing their
capacities and providing them with the world's latest medical equipment in
order to ensure the convenience of patients," he noted.
"An eight-storey building has opened today with a total area of 13,600 sq
meters in the framework of the expansion. The expansion project cost up to KD
eight million," he said.
As part of the project 240 bids have been added to the orthopedic, internal
medicine, pediatrics, surgery and emergency wards of the hospital.
"The ministry is planning to launch an integrated maternity ward at the
hospital," Dr. Al-Sayer disclosed, affirming that the ministry would pursue
its efforts to modernize the healthcare services at all hospitals and clinics
nationwide.
Under HH the Amir's decision to expand the hospital bed capacities 270 beds
will be added to Al-Farqaniya Hospital and 240 beds each of Al-Adan, Mubarak
Al-Kabeer and Al-Jahra hospitals.
The inauguration ceremony of the project was attended by Mubarak Al-Kabeer
Governor Sheikh Ali Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah and the ministry's
Undersecretary Dr. Ibrahim Al-Abdulhadi. (end)
