BAGHDAD, Oct 18 (KUNA) -- Iraq's prime minister Nouri Al-Maliki heads to
the US on Sunday to participate in an investments summit and discuss emerging
from Chapter VII and the formation of an international court on the "Wednesday
assault".
Al-Sabah state newspaper quoted a source close to the government saying
Al-Maliki will hold important talks with officials from the White House, the
UN, and UN Security Council.
Sources assured that extensive talks will be held with UN Secretary General
Ban Ki-moon as well as Security Council presidency regarding the latest
government request for formation of an international court on the "Wednesday
assault".
In addition, Al-Maliki will hold talks with UN officials on the necessity
of removing UN Chapter VII provisions in Iraq.
The delegation accompanying Al-Maliki includes Ministers of Foreign
Affairs, Finance, Oil, and Electricity as well as MPs, advisors, and Chairman
of the Iraqi National Investment Commission Sami Al-Aaraji.
A specialized Investment summit for Iraq will be held October 20-21 in
Washington with the participation of more than 800 foreign and Iraqi companies.
