BAGHDAD, Oct 17 (KUNA) -- Two Iraqi soldiers were killed and three others
were wounded in a blast in north Iraq on Saturday, police said.
Police said a bomb blew up close to a patrol of the Iraqi Army in the
region of Al-Huwaijah, west of Kirkuk, killing two soldiers, wounding three
others and injuring two civilians.
Separately, the American Army said in a statement that Iraqi and US troops
detained two leaders of Al-Qaeda, charged with facilitating infiltration of
insurgents into the country from neighboring Syria.
Another insurgency chief involved in identical acts was nabbed west of
Mosul, it said. (end)
