KABUL, Aug 22 (KUNA) -- A soldier of the International Security Assistance
Force (ISAF) was killed in a vehicle accident Saturday.
The multinational force did not release details about nature of the
accident and its exact location. Also name and nationality of the soldier was
not made public.
Separately, five Afghan security personnel were killed in attacks by
militants in northern and eastern Afghanistan.
In the first incident that occurred in the country's eastern city of
Jalalabad, two policemen were killed in Taliban attack on Saturday. One of the
attackers was also killed in firing by police, said a government spokesman in
the eastern province of Nangarhar.
In the northern province of Baghlan, three more security men were victims
of a landmine blast the same day.
The security personnel were on routine patrol when their vehicle stepped on
a roadside bomb planted by militants. Taliban claimed responsibility for both
incidents. (end)
