RAMALLAH, Aug 1 (KUNA) -- Extremist Israeli settlers seized land located
between Nablus and Qalqilya, and established a new settlement in northern West
Bank, said the official responsible for the settlements file, Ghasan Daghlas,
The armed extremists, who are backed up by the army, are currently
stationed at the new settlement which they named as Tzipi Ami, he added.
The settlers' threats to establish 11 new settlements coincided with the
arrival of four US senior officials to Tel Aviv to demonstrate their refusal
of Washington's demands to halt settlements.
The international road map at its initial stage implies that all
settlements be removed from the West Bank, after being first established in
2001, but Israel did not comply and insists on carrying out its agenda. (end)
