BAGHDAD, May 9 (KUNA) -- Twenty individuals wanted by the Iraqi authorities
were arrested in the ongoing operation in Diyala, northeast of Baghdad, said
the Iraqi Defense Ministry on Saturday.
In a statement, the ministry said it arrested 20 wanted individuals in a
search operation in different areas of the province of Diyala, adding that the
Iraqi troops were able to dismantle a booby-trapped bike and uncover a weapons
cache.
The Iraqi forces had launched an operation targeting Al-Qaeda operatives
and cells supporting the former Baath Party in Diyala on May 1. (end)
