BAGHDAD, Jan 25 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi Ministry of Interior stated here on
Sunday that it completed the training of 500 servicewomen in order to work in
female inspection posts in state ministries and bodies.
It added in a statement that the training department will see the
graduation of the 500 servicewomen Monday, which is a first of its kind
training course in the Iraqi Police Academy. The graduates would serve as
inspectors in all ministries, it said.
Further training courses are to come as a part of the strategy the ministry
is following to improve staff and servicemen and servicewomen's capabilities.
Women have been trained before to join the so-called Sahwa forces in Diyala
governorate where suicide bombing are often carried out by women, which
contributed in decreasing the number of suicidal attacks there in general.(end)
