Kuwait summit resolutions widely hailed - Bashir

KHARTOUM, Jan 22 (KUNA) -- Sudanese President Omar Hassan Al-Bashir said on Thursday the resolutions of the Arab Economic, Social and Development summit, held in Kuwait on January 19-20 drew wide praise from all Arab nations.
Briefing the Sudanese cabinet on the results of the summit, Al-Bashir said the Arab leaders were unanimous on giving a genuine support to the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip on the heels of the 23-day "brutal Israeli aggression." "The summit focused on ways to bolster up the economic cooperation among the Arab countries particularly amidst the global economic crisis which hit the Arab economies hard," he pointed out.
"A forum, held on the sidelines of the summit, singled Sudan out for having the potential of ensuring food security for the Arab nations.
"The summit has given top priority to the power grid, road and communication network hooks-up in a bid to step up Arab integration," the Sudanese president added.
Meanwhile, spokesman of the Sudanese cabinet Omar Mohammad Saleh said the cabinet meeting, chaired by Al-Bashir, instructed all provincial leaders to facilitate investment procedures for Arab investors.
The federal and provincial leaders will accelerate efforts to outline the major economic projects slated for implementation and iron out all land disputes facing Arab investment in the vast east African country, Saleh asserted. (end) hha.gb.
