KUWAIT, Jan 20 (KUNA) - Arab leaders, who concluded their first Economic Summit in Kuwait Tuesday, called for adopting necessary steps to protect intellectual property of distinguished Arabs.
The leaders, in an implementation mechanism of their resolutions of the two-day summit, called for providing financial resources and technical support for the inventors, the development of intellectual property legislation to meet with international standards.
They, meanwhile, called for the organization of immigration of Arab workers abroad, protecting rights of Arab immigrants and emphasizing equal responsibility between countries exporting and importing immigrants.
The mechanism has also called for establishing low-cost housing units, organizing housing in new cities, eliminating hazardous construction of housing units, and encouraging partnership between governments, private sector and financial institutions for real estate investment in the Arab countries.
As for environment, the Arab leaders called for the boosting of capabilities to eliminate disasters, the development of environmental-friendly legislation and policies, and encouraging non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to educate Arab citizens to reserve and protect the environment.
The Arab leaders, on the other hand, called for boosting inter-Arab tourism and encouraging the private sector to increase tourism investments.
