RIYADH, Jan 20 (KUNA) -- The final communique of the ongoing Arab Economic, Social, and Development Summit would include Kuwait's Arab development drive and Gaza reconstruction efforts among its items, Kuwaiti Minister of Finance Mustafa Al-Shimali was quoted saying, Tuesday.
Interviewed by Saudi Al-Iktisadia newspaper, the minister said the communiqu{ would contain a Kuwaiti initiative for bankrolling Arab development and a recommendation put forward by the Saudi King and other Arab leaders for Gaza reconstruction.
He expected that the summit would come up with a strategic vision aiming to find balanced solutions involving social and economic development sectors with a view to achieving favorable and encouraging growth levels.
An executive program has been worked out for following up the implementation of all resolutions and recommendations made by the conferees during the summit, he said.
Clear-cut and unequivocal steps have been taken during the gathering in order to reach "workable" resolutions and "viable" solutions, the minister remarked.
Al-Shimali expressed hope the Kuwait summit would act as a springboard for consolidating and beefing up pan-Arab partnership, boosting Arab investment, drawing back Arab capital and investment, and coordinating financial and monetary policies.
Arab development can be pushed forward only if concerted and joint efforts are exerted to wipe out relevant stumbling blocks, chiefly abysmal public and private development programs, he noted.(end) ay.mt KUNA 201212 Jan 09NNNN
