Algerian official emphasizes importance of Kuwait Econ. Summit

ALGIERS, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- The Algerian General Commissioner of banks and financial institutions Association Abdul-Rahman bin Khalfa emphasized Sunday the importance of the Kuwait Arab economic summit, noting that its a chance for Arab leaders to speed up development of Arab strategy to contain risks of an integrated global financial crisis.
Bin Khalfa said in an exclusive press statement to KUNA that the summit could be the first specialized Arab summit which deals with economic challenges in the Arab world particularly as it hosts many Arab leaders.
The official added that the global financial crisis cast a shadow over the various countries of the world and its repercussions will not go unnoticed on any country, noting that major economies will be affected as well.
Bin Khalfa stressed the importance of holding the summit to see the need for and develop visions for future cooperation among Arab economies.
The Algerian official expected the summit to undertake current known economic circumstances and called for finding ways to achieve Arab integration in various fields, including the social and development fields. (end) ft.mb KUNA 181946 Jan 09NNNN
