Former Egyptian PM says Arab eco summit a great achievement

KUWAIT, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- Former Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Ali Lutfi said Sunday that the Arab Economic Summit was a great achievement and that all leaders were keen to ensure its success.
Speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of the summit's "Private Sector and Civil Society Forum," he lauded the good preparations for the event on the part of the Arab League and the Kuwaiti authorities.
Lutfi, who also heads the Kuwaiti-Egyptian Friendship Society, said the decision to hold this summit stemmed from keenness to address economic challenges faced by the Arab states and requirements for building a prosperous future for their people.
He added that the participation of the civil society was prominent in the summit, and that this reflected the political will for forging a partnership between the governments, private sectors and civil societies. (end) kt KUNA 181026 Jan 09NNNN
