KUWAIT, Jan 17 (KUNA) -- Chairperson of the Arab Businesswomen Council Sheikha Hessa Al-Saad Al-Sabah stressed on Saturday the importance of cooperation between the Arab public and private sectors.
Al-Sabah told KUNA, on the sidelines of the "Private Sector and Civil Society Forum" of the Arab Economic Summit, that the council presented a paper on support provided to Arab women to the summit.
The council also prepared a vision on the empowerment of Arab women, which will be presented to the summit, she added.
She called for establishing a fund for small and medium projects, pointing out that these kinds of projects are a major motive for the growth of the business sector in Arab countries.
She said Arab businessmen, businesswomen, and chambers of commerce look forward for solutions for financial problems likes poverty and unemployment.
Al-Sabah praised the role of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in encouraging women to have active roles in society.
She expressed her happiness for her participation in the summit, hoping it would achieve the ambitions of the Arab people. (end) kt KUNA 171750 Jan 09NNNN
