Arab eco summit well-prepared for -- League official

KUWAIT, Jan 17 (KUNA) -- Director of the Arab League Secretary General's Office Hishan Yousef said Saturday that the Arab Economic Summit was well-prepared for and was two years in the making.
Speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of the preparatory meetings for the summit, he said that great effort was exerted on the part of ministerial committees, research institutions, businesspeople, and the Arab League Secretariat, thereby guaranteeing quantity and quality of proposals and papers presented at the summit.
He said the summit would serve to transform Arab action toward development in the interest of all states.
He said that Secretary General Amr Moussa had described the Arab situation as "chaotic," but this would not affect the summit, as Gaza would not affect the economic nature of this meeting.
Moreover, Yousef said that the Gaza dossier was of vital importance and would be a priority, and that no Arab summit held under such circumstances could overlook this issue. (end) kt KUNA 171656 Jan 09NNNN
