Eco summit will adopt new methodology for tackling Arab development issues -- Al-Shimali

KUWAIT, Jan 17 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Finance Minister Mustafa Al-Shimali said Saturday that the Arab Economic Summit would adopt new methodology in dealing with economic and developmental issues in the Arab world.
Speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of the Arab Economic Summit's "Private Sector and Civil Society Forum," he said this was the first time that an Arab summit was held to discuss economic affairs, despite the fact that the situation in Gaza Strip would be given a priority during the leaders' discussion on Monday and Tuesday.
He said the two-day forum would see discussions between Arab ministers, businesspeople and representatives of civil societies over topics that would then be referred to the leaders.
Al-Shimali said the summit places great responsibilities on certain sectors pertaining to social and development issues in the Arab world, with the aim of placing a clear vision over the social Arab reality and means to achieve comprehensive social development. (end) kt KUNA 171643 Jan 09NNNN
