(With photo) AMMAN, Jan 16 (KUNA) -- Jordanian Minister of Culture Nancy Bakir on Friday praised Kuwait's initiative to hold an Arab economic summit, stressing the positive impact of the economic well-being on the cultural aspect in the Arab world.
Bakir said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) before leaving Amman flying to Kuwait to participate in the Arab economic summit that "Kuwait's summit constitutes a real important Arab event to address the changes imposed by the global economic conditions which left its impact on the Arab cultural movement." On the importance of the summit as being the first to be devoted to tackle the economic matters in the Arab world, Bakir said that the interest of the State of Kuwait to hold an economic summit reflects its depth of thinking and farsightedness on the importance of the economy, as "the engine of the policy and not vice versa." Regarding the correlation between the summit and culture, the minister said that investment issues, food security, transport, environment, youth, education and outflow of experts that would be addressed by the summit are all of great significance and have direct link to the cultural and community awareness, thus; would leave positive impacts on the subject of development.
She added, "We applaud the State of Kuwait for hosting this summit which would make a positive turn on economic integration and cultural development in the Arab world." (end) ab.tg KUNA 161112 Jan 09NNNN
