Kuwait summit a take-off bid for Arab investment

(with photos) RABAT, Jan 15 (KUNA) -- The first Arab Economic, Social and Development Summit, to take place in Kuwait on January 19-20, will be a great stride towards enhancement of mutual investments among the Arab, a prominent Moroccan politician said on Thursday.
"The summit provides a timely opportunity for encouraging Arab investors to take part in their country's efforts to achieve sustainable socio-economic development," chairman of the People's Movement parliamentary bloc MP Idris El-Sentisi said in statements to KUNA here.
"Kuwait, thanks to its close ties with all Arab countries and international status, is an ideal venue for the summit," El-Sentisi, also well-known businessman and Governor of Sla said.
He voiced confidence that the historic event would succeed in solving the social and economic problems of the Arab world ensuring from the ongoing global economic turmoil.
"The summit provides a timely ample opportunity for enhancing cooperation and economic integration among the Arab countries to serve the interests of all Arab peoples," he said.
El-Sentisi hailed the Moroccan-Kuwaiti cooperation in the economic, commercial and investment areas dating back to early 1970s as ideal for cooperation among the sisterly Arab countries. (end) sf.gb.
