Foreign ministry issues new volume on Kuwait summit

KUWAIT, Jan 15 (KUNA) -- The Economic Department at the Foreign Ministry here has issued a new volume that includes a number of topics related to the Arab Economic, Developmental and Social Summit, due in Kuwait on January 19-20.
A host of diplomats at the department had set in, documented and researched topics of the volume, department director Ambassador Sheikh Ali Al-Khalid Al-Jaber Al-Sabah told KUNA.
The summit would tackle a number of persisting issues and challenges faced by Arab states such as poverty, unemployment, poor living status of Arab citizens and immigration of Arab capitals and minds, as well as weak infrastructure in many Arab countries, Sheikh Ali said.
He pointed out that the volume also addressed supporting joint Arab action in economic, developmental and social sectors, noting that such objectives coincided with aspiration of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of turning Kuwait into a commercial and financial hub at regional and international levels.
The publication also includes inquiries and researches on the summit, as well as all 244 proposals conveyed to the Arab League's General Secretariat in order for it to submit them to the summit, Sheikh Ali noted. (end) sar.ash.hb KUNA 151826 Jan 09NNNN
