Gaza developments a priority in eco summit discussions -- Al-Mubaraki

KUWAIT, Jan 15 (KUNA) -- Israeli attacks on Palestinians in Gaza Strip will be a priority in discussions at the Arab Economic Summit, said Director of the Foreign Ministry's Arab World Department Ambassador Jassem Al-Mubaraki on Thursday.
Speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of the meeting of permanent representatives to the Arab League, he said the developments in Gaza would feature in leaders' talks and would be a priority.
He said that despite this being an economic event, "we cannot overlook the developments in Gaza, in which hundreds of Palestinians have been killed." Al-Mubaraki said that before any assistance could be delivered to Palestinians, the Israeli violence had to be halted.
As for the meeting, he expressed hope that the summit would succeed in being of service to Arab societies, noting that Arab states were ready for economic integration.
He noted that during the meeting of finance ministers and governors of central banks yesterday, a clause was added pertaining to the global financial crisis, which was of great concern to everyone. (end) kz.ema KUNA 151335 Jan 09NNNN
