Arab eco. summit "breath of fresh air" -- Arab League envoys

KUWAIT, Jan 14 (KUNA) -- A number of Arab League envoys affirmed here Wednesday that the Arab economic and social development summit, to be held in Kuwait on January 19-20, would be "a breath of fresh air" that would change the approach to the idea of inter-Arab cooperation.
Syrian Ambassador to Egypt as well as envoy for the Arab League Yousif Ahmad told KUNA that the Kuwaiti initiative was the first attempt for real Pan-Arab economic cooperation, saying that the event would be historical.
On his part, Moroccan Ambassador to Cairo and Arab League envoy Mohammad Faraj Al-Dikali hoped that the summit would come out with resolutions that would benefit Arab integration plans, thanking the Kuwaiti leadership for the opportunity to expand cooperation amongst Arabs.
Arab League Assistant Undersecretary for Palestinian Affairs Mohammad Subeih told KUNA the summit was bound to be a success, if Arabs seriously took steps towards development.
Kuwait has always been a beacon for inter-Arab cooperation and hopefully the event would amplify this important fact, he said. (pickup previous) kz.na.gta KUNA 141641 Jan 09NNNN
