Eco summit coordinator underscores need to boost eco, social cooperation

KUWAIT, Jan 14 (KUNA) -- General Coordinator of the Arab Economic Summit Mirvet Talawi underscored Wednesday the importance of boosting Arab cooperation and coordination in economic, social and educational issues.
Speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of the meeting of Arab finance ministers and central banks governors, she said this summit was distinguished in that it included intellectuals, businesspeople and members of civil societies.
She said the Arab League held 15 meetings with these segments to understand their visions and survey their opinions on topics for the summit, adding that despite the situation in Gaza, the summit was guaranteed to succeed.
Talawi said there were numerous studies that would be discussed at the summit, including those related to commerce, services, climatic changes, transportation, reform, the role of Arab capital in economic integration, poverty, and unemployment, besides others. (end) kz.ema KUNA 141425 Jan 09NNNN
