In a statement to KUNA upon arriving here earlier today to participate in the anticipated summit, due on January 19-20, Toukan described the event a "seizable opportunity" for all Arab states to overcome impacts of the global economic crisis, noting that the summit would be a step forward in the path of achieving Arab economic collaboration that would lead to establishing the Arab common market.
Pan-Arab trade should be further developed, as such issue was a basic objective sought after within the process of developing Arab economy, he said.
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is a perfect example for a successful Arab joint work, Toukan pointed out. (end) mah.abd.hb KUNA 132033 Jan 09NNNN
